Tala, Clean up Your Room!
Done, Mom!
Technically I DID tell her to pick everything up off the floor. LOL.
See you tomorrow for DAYfifty-one!
Today the girls and I joined our adopted family on an epic bus ride to the North Pacific Cannery in Port Edward. A super duper awesome amazing time was had by all!
Welcome to DAYforty-six of the 150 Days of Photos.
One of the huge benefits of living in a fishing village (and having a fisherman Dad to boot) is an abundance of salmon during the summer months. My Dear Ole Dad sure delivered the goods last night and we feasted at supper time tonight!
Tala of course right in on the action during supper prep time
An early one today! The girls woke up in wonderful moods this morning and Tala was very pleased with her brand new must have accessory!
See you tomorrow for DAYforty-six (holy moly, almost 1/3 of the way there already!)
After an exceptionally busy 3 days at work all I wanted to do last night was hang around with my little angels. We had supper, cuddled, read books and talked about our days and our weekend plans. Then off to bed we went nice and early. I decided that missing a day wasn’t such a big deal.
Today’s photo is courtesy of Malie the young phenom photographer. She’s great!
See you tomorrow for DAYforty-five!

I cannot believe that today is the 39th day of photos! Absolutely amazing!
Malie actually looks upset in this picture. In reality she’s concentrating hard as she practices for her future career as an Olympian in Shot Put! Go Malie Go!
See you tomorrow for DAYforty!
Beautiful Summer Day here today.. but I’ve taken care of that… 4 spiders and 1 beetle down… all bases covered – rain should be arriving any minute! LOL.
Today we have the mother of all Photo Gifts. Artscow never seems to disappoint, but yet I was a tad apprehensive when I ordered the Fleece Blanket currently on special for $14.99 US (shipped). I had no idea what to actually expect. I’ve always been exceptionally impressed with the quality of the products we received, but would the blanket be up to par?
My goodness is it ever. As expected Miss Malie (my blankie girl) has claimed the blanket for herself, and loves having pictures of us all on her blanket.
Cute or what? The clarity is absolutely amazing, and I love the added details I was able to add. The butterflies for one, there’s also a heart pattern added in. I used 9 photos in total.
Can it be so? A day without a picture or two (or three) of my kids? It was bound to happen eventually!
We’ve been having very unusual weather lately (well okay, its not really unusual for Rupert – though it is more extreme) and that has resulted in some amazing cloud formations in the sky.
Okay. So perhaps I am getting a little over-gung-ho on the 150 Days of Photos. My motivation is evidently here in full force and I’ve been sneaking in extra pictures! Egad! However, I must say that it is far preferable to the alternative… not getting enough great pictures in!
Today turned out to be a pretty awesome day so we headed out to Diana Lake for a supper time picnic with resident cuties in tow. The girls had a blast in the freezing cold (oh my goodness was it cold) water. I absolutely love this picture of the 3 of them flying into the water together.
Back tomorrow for DAYthirty-four!
I have always left the creative stuff up to other people. Sure I could probably take the award of Craft Mommy with ease, but I usually let the kids have all the craft fun, and do the clean up afterwards. Until now that is.
In my younger days I destroyed quite the many tshirt creating new and exciting designs. But that got away from me as I grew older. When the girls received invites to a Rock Star Party I awoke the morning of inspired to create a Punk Rock shirt for Miss Malie. The finished punk rock version of Miss Malie! Insert totally proud Mommy here! The kids at the party all had their hair sprayed with coloured hairspray, and got rock star makeup done. Plus tattoos galore!
She was absolutely livid with me when I first started cutting, but quickly came around. Yay!
I started with a t-shirt that I had ordered from Rainbow Swirlz. I had ordered 2. One with a tree (as shown below) and the other with a Morning Monster Logo. The girls fought over the Tree one but neither wanted to take ownership of the scary monster. So its been sitting since before Christmas time. An example of the shirt I used for this project … its the exact same shirt just with a different design on the front.
I took my scissors to the sleeves first, and then Malie picked out her bead choices. Got em threaded, and then I decided to cut the neck off. So off it came.
My initial thought was that it would an off the shoulder t-shirt, but I didn’t like the finished look of it. So I ended up cutting it a little bit wider, and then I created straps out of the discarded shirt collar. Sewed the straps on with red thread to keep with the whole Punk Rock image.
The t-shirt still didn’t look quite finished. So I took my scissors to the shirt again and cut about 8 inches up each side of the shirt. I then tied the sides of the shirt together to make it more cropped, and fitted. Malie absolutely adores her shirt and I’m sure it will become a staple in her wardrobe! She had a blast modelling the shirt for me this morning, and especially when she realized that swirling around would make beads flare out around her.
And so I guess that I do have a creative side to me, just waiting to claw its way out!
A huge thank you to Rainbow Swirlz who’s awesome design made my creation all that much more amazing. The Morning Monster Shirt was absolutely perfect!
Revisiting yesterday’s topic as I just had to get a better picture this morning. I wanted to get a full on great view of Malie’s Punk Rock shirt that we created yesterday morning. She absolutely adores her shirt – hooray! She had a blast modeling her shirt this morning. And had a blast twirling around to make the beads splay all around.
See you tomorrow for DAYthirty-three!
Today (Saturday the 4th) was the girls’ friend’s 4th birthday party. The theme was Rock Star and we all had a blast getting ready for the party, and then getting the kids all Punk Rock’d.
There was coloured hairspray, face paint, and oodles and oodles of Rock themed crafts for the kiddos.
Like Malie’s shirt? I made it myself this morning. We used an old shirt that neither girl was impressed with and made an absolutely amazing Punk Rocker creation. Very proud am I!
Malie was pretty upset with me when I first started cutting, but quickly came around. She adores the shirt, and it looked super adorable!
Front page Baby! The girls along with their best buddies made the front page of the newspaper today. Very exciting for our little Canada Day Celebrators!
**pssstttt…. this is DAYthirty posted after 9pm est even through technically it is still DAYtwenty-nine on the Pacific Coast. C’est la vie!**
See you tomorrow (or really the day after tomorrow, or perhaps after 9pm est again tomorrow for DAYthirty-one.
Now off to raid the local Newspaper boxes for more copies to send family!
Every single item that comes into the house these days is classified as School Clothing by Miss Tala. Today an adorable sweater arrived from Please Mum that is no exception to this rule of thumb. Its so absolutely adorable that I can’t help but wonder how long that proclamation will last.
Today is Canada Day. We headed downtown to take part in the celebrations with our friends. It was a dark, dreary day, made so much brighter by our companions, and the general excitement around town. Say what you will about Prince Rupert weather, but you cannot deny that the people in town make the best of anything Mother Earth dishes out for us.
I absolutely adore this picture of Miss Malie. She looks so grown up. She’s growing up right before my eyes. She had a blast today, and played herself right to sleep.
See you tomorrow for DAYtwenty-eight!
